Created as part of the “Home to Home” series where I study the landscapes between what used to be home to where we reside now. Painting is the perfect way to combat homesickness!
The Prairie pieces are inspired by photographs I took while running in Nosehill Park in Calgary, AB. I was mesmerized by the movement of the swaying grass, the layers of golden hues mixed with unlimited greens, and the ability to see as far as the eye can see. This is where the idea for the series came to me, and I’ll be forever grateful for that morning run.
