Created as part of the “Home to Home” series where I study the landscapes between what used to be home to where we reside now. Painting is the perfect way to combat homesickness!
The Foothills pieces are inspired by photographs I took while making the commute back to the new & exciting life we are trying to create. I always experience so much emotion on this phase of our drive as the goodbyes are still fresh. I distract myself by observing the layers upon layers of fields and rolling hills with the majestic Rockies growing larger as we drive longer. Such a tender moment to capture on canvas!
