A CREATIVE LIFE IS FULL OF MANY BLESSINGS *
MEET SARAH.
My passion as a painter comes from a life-long desire to create. Growing up in Calgary, Alberta, I was always out exploring the Canadian Rockies and the prairies, collecting shapes and colours as the sun moved across the sky. I began painting as a child and dabbled with my brushes throughout my adolescence. In 2012, I studied Interior Design, where I developed an understanding of principles and elements found in many creative practices. Although I am a self taught artist, I apply these principles and elements in my artwork to bring a vision to life. In 2021 I officially opened my studio and started painting part time as I stepped into the role as mother. From painting originals and commissions, to releasing a festive collection each Christmas and connecting with people by teaching paint nights, I have been beyond blessed with so much support from a wonderful community of art collectors and enthusiasts.
Currently, I live in the beautiful Okanagan with my husband, Shawn, and two kids who inspire me daily. When I’m not painting, and when I have some time to myself, you will find me either trail running, creating in the kitchen, or getting back to the rugged mountains. Inspired by nature’s beauty whenever we travel between our old home (Calgary) to our new home (Coldstream), I love to capture moments in time, and then depict them in my own way on a canvas. I love using paint to create a shared experience between the viewer and me, the artist. It means the world to me when one of my pieces resonates deeply with someone, just like the experience did for me. This connection brings me such joy and compels me to paint the way I see the world: full of nature’s colour palette.
New collection:
‘Home to Home’
Launching early 2025
I started working on this collection after months of battling homesickness. This was my way of processing what was and what is. The commute between the Okanagan and Calgary has become quite familiar now, and this is my way to capture some of the sights along the way. From my camera to my canvas.
